Showcasing the latest sports technologies, demonstrating a smart future
Hong Kong, 4 November 2018 – Innothon 10KM, one of the events held during the InnoCarnival 2018, which is jointly organised by the Hong Kong Information Technology Joint Council and the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, co-organised by Sportsoho and supported by the Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC), was held successfully this morning.
The Innothon 10KM 2018 garnered huge support from runners. Nearly 2,000 athletes gathered in Hong Kong Science Park this morning to compete for the glory of a championship through a series of heats, including the 3KM and 10KM Individual, the 3 x 1KM Relay, and the 1KM Family Run. The Innothon route falls within Hong Kong Science Park, starting at Science Park E Avenue. Runners were able to enjoy the view of the futuristic green and technological architectures throughout the eco-friendly site. The organiser also arranged exhibition booths which showcased technology innovations, so runners could have first-hand experience of the latest technologies applied in sports, offering a glimpse of a smart future.
Innothon 10KM 2018 provided participants with personal experience of the latest sports technologies, allowing them to understand the integration of technologies and daily lives, thereby promoting the benefits brought by I&T to everyday life.
All InnoCarnival 2018 activities are free of charge. Members of the public are welcome to join the activities, some of which require advance registration. ITC will provide free shuttle bus services between Hong Kong Science Park and University MTR station / Sha Tin during the InnoCarnival.
